Yunnan Paintings

Here are some sketches from Xizhou and Zhoucheng, near Dali in Yunnan, China. The Naxi outdoor color sketch of the woman in traditional costume, the male portrait, and the mountain scene at the bottom (Jade Dragon Mountain), were painted in Yuhu village near Lijiang.

  3. I really like the way the paint strokes have taken over the suggestion of the buildings and people. The colours used are really beautiful. Truly a work of art.

  4. Colors define subtely form , colors exciting.
Strokes of paint interesting use. These are very pleasant to live with. Seeing China through your eyes in paintings took me back when we were on tour in China. I agree with the one above. Truly a work of art.

I love the brushstrokes and your loose style. Your selected palletes are beauitful! My favorite piece is the elderly man. It is perfection! I surely aspire to achieve the ability to paint as well someday.
